“A Queen Within” opens at the Museum of Pop Culture, Seattle
Our traveling exhibition A Queen Within: Adorned Archetypes is now open at the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle, WA. The exhibition, which originated in St. Louis, has now been displayed at three venues, including the New Orleans Museum of Art.
A Queen Within is an immersive, large-scale group exhibition of contemporary fashion, photography, film, and art. Curated by Sofia Hedman and Serge Martynov (MUSEEA), the show investigates symbols of womanhood and challenges conventional notions of beauty through over 100 works by boundary-pushing fashion designers and artists including Vivienne Westwood, Chromat, Gucci, Studio Roosegaarde, Gypsy Sport, Selam Fessahaye, Prada, Comme des Garçons, Alexander McQueen, Hassan Hajjaj, Maïmouna Guerresi, Gianfranco Ferré, Anrealage, Ashish, Iris van Herpen and over 25 other international designers known for their daring and incisive work.
The exhibition will be on view at MoPOP through September 2. Visit their website for a full list of additional programs and events.
