SOCIAL MEDIA ENGAGEMENT INTERNSHIP at Barrett Barrera Projects

We are seeking a Social Media Engagement Intern to help Barrett Barrera Projects develop and execute audience interaction through our social channels, which include Instagram, Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Description

The Social Media Engagement Intern will work to create and build authentic interactions with Barrett Barrera Projects’ followers. They will engage with our digital community and work to cultivate creative communication of our brand and company voice. The Social Media Engagement Intern will work closely with Barrett Barrera Projects’ Director of Curatorial and Program Development, Project Manager and projects+gallery’s Curatorial and Gallery Associate.

Requirements

We are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated individual who has the ability to provide a flexible and creative approach to planned and spontaneous ideas in order to facilitate real time audience engagement, along with the following:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised as well as among a team
  • Technology savvy
  • Create engaging, shareable content under tight deadlines
  • Develop plans for community engagement
  • Monitor and spot trends

Responsibilities:

  • Management of all social channels
  • Engagement with relevant audiences through comments and messaging via social platforms
  • Strategize possible content opportunities from audience engagement
  • Create a database of relevant hashtags, holidays, notable birthdays and anniversaries

The internship is a part-time position requiring a commitment of at least 20 hours a week for three months, May 15 – August 15, 2019. Interns will receive $10/hour; work schedule to be negotiated upon hire.

SCALE MODEL MAKER INTERNSHIP at projects+gallery

We are seeking a Scale Model Maker Intern to help us cultivate creative resources to facilitate the   production and development of projects at our affiliate gallery space, projects+gallery.

Description

The Scale Model Intern will work to create and build a miniature representation of projects+gallery and 3D digital renderings in Sketchup or similar software. In doing so, they will engage with Gallery Preparators, the Senior Director of projects+gallery, projects+gallery’s Curatorial and Gallery Associate, and Barrett Barrera Projects’ Director of Curatorial and Program Development.

Requirements

We are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated individual who has the ability to creatively problem solve in order to develop functioning resources for a commercial gallery space along with the following:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised as well as among a team
  • Technology savvy
  • Some knowledge of modeling to scale, paper cutting, laser cutting, hand cutting, and small scale assembly
  • Some Knowledge of SketchUp
  • Some knowledge of 3D printing systems

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Developing scaled drawings
  • Sourcing production materials and tools
  • Producing scale model miniatures
  • Researching 3D printers and software
